Eddie Bissell started work in the UK as a newspaper photographer in 1962. A spell of freelancing from 1971-73 brought work with numerous national and international publications and agencies and he became picture editor of a
leading British business daily.

In 1979, he was invited to restructure and run photojournalism courses at the U.K.'s National Council for the Training of Journalists and concentrated on training for nine years. He focused his photographic work on sport, and was elected a member of the Professional Sports Photographers
Association. He also served as a judge for the British Press Awards.

In 1990 he started working with the Thomson Foundation, conducting international photojournalism training courses in Africa, Asia, Malaysia and Europe. He was elected an Associate of the British Institute of Professional Photography and a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 1991.

In June 1999, he helped set up Training Direct International, a non-profit NGO
registered in the UK. It is dedicated to educating and training journalists, photojournalists, broadcasters and other media personnel in the developing world.

Mikel Flamm
, a native of Southern California, has worked in Southeast Asia since 1990 as a freelance photojournalist based out of Bangkok. His beat includes Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Indonesia where he has worked as both a photographer and reporter.

He has also done assignments for Look Magazine in Bangkok, and Channel 9 TV in Australia.

Prior to relocating to Southeast Asia in 1990, Mikel was a photographer in Los Angeles, California. In 1976, he graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena with a Fine Arts degree in photography.
